Refrigeration System

At World Food Equipment, we are experts are refrigeration. Whether you are a large scale warehouse, to small restaurants and convenience stores, we are able to help you with your refrigeration needs. In order to ensure the highest quality, we use stainless steel and other metals known for their durability.

Indoor Refrigeration Units

These units are the most commonly used refrigerators in the grocery industry, convenience stores, restaurants, and even personal use. We offer a wide selection of designs and styles to ensure durability, quality, and the best cooling around. These types of fridges also come with LED lighting for appeling merchandising, and high visibility for customers. These fridges make the shopping experience what is is. We offer both walk-in options and reach-in options; depending on the scale of your business and business needs.

Outdoor Refrigeration Units

These type of refrigerators are built and thrive in outdoor use. These are suited with tongue and groove profiling for the tightest seal, and maintaining the temperatures within the refrigerator. These units are ground level specific for easy access and is able to withstand harsh climates and the environment.

Outdoor Refrigeration

The primary advantage of selecting an outdoor walk-in refrigerator is that you’ll preserve precious space on the inside of your building. If you’re in the market for a ready-to-ship unit, one that has been pre-designed with standard size panels at the factory and is ready to order without custom specs, delivery and installation can be quick as long as you have good level ground to put it on. Otherwise you may need to have a new concrete slab poured for it. You might choose a ready-to-ship model if you need one in a hurry or would rather not get involved in a lengthy installation process. They're often significantly less expensive than custom models as well.

An outdoor cooler offers a range of benefits for those who have limited space inside the building. Since they don’t take up interior real estate, you don’t have to adjust the layout of your restaurant or lose seating. Delivery and Installation are also faster. It also makes storage of cold food deliveries easier and faster.

Warm air is another consideration. Coolers generate warm air in the process of cooling their interior. If the cooler is outside, you don’t have to worry about where that warm air is released, or deal with additional refrigeration lines in your business.

On the downside, you’ll also need to install a door between your business and the cooler, or go outside to access it. Extreme temperatures mean that it uses more energy, which can increase operating costs. Finally, you might also need to install extra security and protective components like a snow roof, exterior fencing, sun canopies and the like.

Drop In/ Penthouse Units

Penthouse Refrigeration System – Penthouse Refrigeration Systems are like Standard Top Mount Systems except they do not have an evaporator coil sticking down inside the walk-in. The air inside the walk-in is drawn up through the evaporator coil located with the condensing unit on top of the walk-in to be cooled. A licensed refrigeration technician will be needed to install the refrigeration system. These systems sometimes seem higher in upfront cost but when all things are considered including the fact that they are factory assembled and don’t take up space in the walk-in it is less expensive in the long run.

A penthouse unit is a self-contained system including a condensing unit (discharges the heat outside the box) and the evaporator (absorbs heat when warmer air is passed through, thereby cooling the inside of the unit), which is positioned in a square cutout of one of the roof sections. The air inside the walk-in is drawn up through the evaporator coil located with the condensing unit on top of the walk-in to be cooled. If space is important, a penthouse unit is the most suitable. A custom refrigeration system consists of an evaporator mounted on the ceiling inside of the box and the condensing unit mounted either on top of the walk-in, or in some cases outside on the roof of the building if it is preferable to pump the heat right out of the building.

Condensers

A condensing unit for every application.

World Food Equipment offers the broadest selection of indoor, outdoor and transportation condensing units on the market. Leveraging the latest in compressor technology, components, and electronics to achieve optimum performance benefits.

Remote condensing units consist of a condenser coil, compressor, receiver tank and other components assembled on a common base. Remote systems may be used with walk in coolers and freezers, reach ins, merchandiser display cases and other equipment.

As the name implies, remote systems are located away from refrigeration equipment, frequently outside a building or on a roof. Remote location allows heat produced from the system to be released outside without increasing inside building temperatures or the air conditioning load.

Models are specially designed to function in high temperature environments with a standard weather hood to protect from the elements. All components are pre-wired and factory mounted. Compressor choices include hermetic (compressor and motor sealed inside one housing) and compliant scroll (two interleaving scrolls compress refrigerant contained inside). units are also available with or without matching

Evaporators

Walk-In Evaporator Units and How They Work

What are refrigeration evaporator coils? A refrigeration evaporator coil is one of the most important parts of a walk-in cooler or freezer. It absorbs heat when warmer air is passed through a walk-in refrigeration system, thereby cooling the inside of the unit.

In other words, moisture from the air freezes onto the refrigerator evaporator coil—the cooling coils inside the freezer—and helps form a barrier that insulates against heat transfer. Airflow is also minimized as the passages inside the refrigeration evaporator tend to narrow because of build-up of ice. Each walk-in freezer evaporator also features a defrost cycle that helps melt the frost or ice that gradually builds up in the refrigerator evaporator coil. Water that results from the melted ice is then drained from the freezer

Evaporator coils, also referred to as unit coolers, are furnished as part of a remote refrigeration system for walk in coolers and freezers. Their main purpose is to blow cold air inside the walk in structure and keep stored products cool.

coils are ready to mount in position on a walk in and are available with air (off cycle) defrost, electric defrost or optional reverse cycle defrost when equipped with the Master Controller Reverse Cycle Defrost system.

Standard Features

  • Properly sized expansion valve

  • Room thermostat

  • Energy efficient EC motors on single phase coils

  • Electric defrost models feature defrost termination/fan delay controls and drain line heaters
